The situation
The Tribal health program had provided dental care for 20 years. The work was to broaden the care available through the program.
My role, and the people behind the work
I served as Tribal Chief Operating Officer, Health, leading the operational expansion.
This was the work of a Tribal health program: its leadership, community, and care teams. My contribution was operational leadership within that program.
What changed
- Expanded the program into medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, telehealth, and administrative services.
- Grew the workforce and recruited 12 providers.
The results
- The program grew from one dental clinic to a four-site Tribal FQHC.
- Staff increased from 8 to 48.
